Description
Each hippo requires less than three-quarters of an ounce (21 g) of worsted weight yarn, an F/5 hook (3.75mm), a small amount of fiberfill (up to a quarter ounce (7g)), and a pair of safety eyes (6mm and 9mm shown). You’ll stitch four legs, then make the head and body in one go, sew on the legs and braid a tail after running yarn through the appropriate spot. The ears and nostrils are made as part of the head.
Stitches and techniques assumed: slip knot, chain, single crochet and its decrease, sewing up openings, magic ring, sewing pieces together.
