Description
This pattern includes the following fruit slices: vertical lemon/lime (nub to nub), horizontal citrus, apple, pear, peach, and mandarin orange segment. A half ounce (14 g) of worsted-weight yarn, used with an F/5 hook (3.75mm), is more than enough to make one of each of seven fruits (lemon and lime counted separately); this will use up your tiny bits of yarn.
If you want to stiffen your fruit ornaments, I recommend visiting this page on stiffening options. The lime slice earrings were made with a steel hook size 4 (2.00mm) out of embroidery floss and stiffened with cornstarch.
Stitches and techniques assumed: magic ring, slip knot, chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, triple crochet, stitching around a chain, color change, whipstitch, lark’s head and overhand knots (may be replaced with other knots as desired).
The patterns in this pdf are also found in Fruit Ornaments. Fruit Ornaments also contains the patterns in Whole Fruits.
