And another is finished!
In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March second, I began stitching another embroidery for the Children’s Book Quilt, from One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish:
My version is a little sleepy compared to the original, but I’m quite pleased with it. There may be a second Dr. Seuss drawing in the final collection… stay tuned.
Too cute! How are you doing these – do you make a pattern or do you just freehand them?
Thanks!
I trace the drawing with tracing paper, then go over the parts I’ll stitch (which generally is everything I traced in the first place, though not always) to make them darker, then trace them onto wash-away embroidery paper. That gets pinned to the fabric and stitched right through. The tracing takes strong light, but the tracing paper to embroidery paper step is going to be easier next time I do it because Matt has a light table.
